Platinum Lottery

This is an idea that I've tossed around in my head for a little bit now, as some of us may not have money to spare on Platinum. This is not a problem for acquiring and crafting weapons/frames/skins (resources and blueprints are, after all, farmable by normal or alert missions or available from the Market), but for things that are available only through Platinum - in particular, Warframe and weapon slots - it can be very frustrating.

Unfortunately, I'm going to bar members with the Master's Founder Package (or maybe Hunter, kind of debating) and higher from participating (as recipients), because you've got quite a bit of Platinum already! (And if you spent it all, then that's really not my problem. >_>) This lottery is intended for people who can't spare the money for it.

As much as I'd like to get this in the air now, I'm currently between jobs and preparing to move from goddamn Illinois to Texas (mind you, that's a 17-hour drive), so for now I'd just like to refine the concept a bit. It would also be great if I weren't the only one hosting lotteries, so I'm thinking that some form of karma system should be in place to encourage hosting. Also - Paypal? How should we do this? etc.

Thoughts, comments, ideas? Feedback is welcome.

Looks like DE fixed the issue with certain payment methods not showing up for certain people, so I'm going just go ahead and say that Paypal is the way to do this. (Of course, I wouldn't mind purchasing through Steam personally, as I'm trying to collect all those damn cards... But presumably that would involve sharing account information, which in most online games [and as a rule of thumb] is a no-no.)

Thinking the smallest package ($5, 75 Plat) is kind of bleh, so...
Probably going to do this. Each win earns a member a point; if someone with the lowest amount of points wins (not counting the early stages of the lottery, where everyone's virtually tied for last), they have the option to get a DOUBLE ($10, 170 Plat), but this automatically adds enough points to their count to push them into first place, meaning they won't get a double again for a while.

Incentive to host a lottery will probably be something like having extra entries or winnings multipliers in future lotteries.

Let's say someone hosts a lottery. In the next X lotteries that he signs up for, he will have the option to multiply his winnings by Y if his name is drawn (bigger prize), or he can put his name in multiple times in the same lottery (higher win chance). The host of those lotteries decides which of those options to activate (since not everyone has the financial flexibility to host a multiplier win).

The numbers in the scenario above would be affected by how much he hosted the lottery for (one lottery may, for example, have multiple winners).

Hard numbers to follow once I get my net back and am able to work the system a little more thoroughly.

Also, I'm thinking that Masters and Grand Masters should be able to enter lotteries if they've hosted in the past... Hosting points/karma system or something. Again, hard numbers to follow, but expect the rate to be kind of steep as this lottery is, like I've said, meant to be for players who have a hard time getting platinum.
